What a gorgeous month September can be at the shore. The ocean water is the warmest of the season, beaches are less crowded, and crabs are fattening up before burrowing into the mud for the winter. Doing some crabbing over Labor Day weekend with my family, although we only caught a few because the current was fierce, we returned with enough to enjoy for dinner. While we were out there we saw bait fish jumping out of the water, and minnows swam right next to our boat.
Some folks enjoy catching good shots of the marshes and meadows in pictures more than catching crabs, and I have to admit I’m one of them. The raw beauty of salt water wildlife can be enchanting. It’s peaceful and calm and you can leave your cares behind if only for a little while.
